In honour of Canada Day, here are 5 sustainable skincare brands from Canada!
I have sensitive skin that tends to run dry, so I’m always looking for gentle skincare that keeps me from looking like a lizard. I prefer using products with natural and non-irritating ingredients. And obviously, I value brands and products that are cruelty-free, vegan, and ethically sourced.
We all know and love The Ordinary. They are committed to transparency in pricing and ingredients, and they create truly effective products that are backed by science. They’re super innovative and have really pushed the industry forward.
They helped create an environment for other similar brands to launch and contribute to the growing sustainable beauty movement. I love to take care of my skin, and I think it’s important to support local businesses, so I’m excited to share these amazing Canadian brands with you!

About: Created by Sade Baron and her daughter Rachel, this line is committed to high quality, vegan products with no harsh or harmful ingredients. Plus, they are also women owned and operated (like these black owned fashion brands from Toronto)
Vibe: Minimalistic and earthy. They offer soap, moisturizers, and body mists. Many products are fragrance free, others have clean and citrusy scents. Their products are so affordable, and they’re filled with superfoods to make your skin glow (check out my article on polyphenols for more about this!)
