Can Kiehl’s Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak restore my hair to its glory?
If you read my Olaplex review, you’ll already know all about the long-term struggles I have with my hair. I have fine, curly ringlets that are prone to dryness and frizz. I’ve been growing my hair out, but the ends are still coloured and damaged. I found my regular condition wasn’t cutting it.
So I started looking into different haircare solutions. I wasn’t sure if I needed a deep conditioner, conditioner mask, or leave-in conditioner; the list goes on. I came across this Kiehl’s mask on Sephora. I hadn’t used any Kiehl’s products in the past, but I had heard they used high quality, environmentally-friendly ingredients. The description claims that this mask “is formulated for dehydrated, under-nourished, and damaged hair, and is ideal for hair weakened by overexposure to sun, chemical-processing, or excessive heat styling”. That definitely sounded like my hair!
The price of the mask is $38 CDN. That seemed a bit expensive to me, but you do get 250ml, which is fairly generous. I decided that if it worked, it would be worth it.
I like the mask shape and style. The mask itself is creamy, with an almost whipped consistency. It has a light, clean smell. The tub makes it so easy to scoop out when you’re hands are wet. I apply from roots to ends, working it through until my hair is fully coated. You really only need a little bit, about half a palm. I leave it on for at least 5-10 minutes before rinsing out completely.
Honestly, I noticed a difference after my first use; my hair feels noticeably smoother. After drying, my hair was soft, manageable, and tangle-free. My hair wasn’t greasy or feeling weighed-down; I was really impressed!
Where is my hair at now?
I am currently on my second tub. As you can see in the picture, I’m about halfway through this one. With continued use, my hair has improved greatly. It no longer feels like straw and feels much healthier.
My current hair washing routine is: detangle with a cheaper conditioner, shampoo, and then apply the mask. Since I only wash my hair once or twice a week, the container lasts quite a while. My first container lasted about 6 months, which is pretty great.
Overall, I am very happy with the Kiehl’s Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak. It has restored life to my hair! I definitely recommend this product if you’re looking to splurge on a hair mask. I like that Kiehl’s uses high quality, natural ingredients, and comes with minimal packaging. If sustainability is important to you, Kiehl’s checks off a lot boxes!
